Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Eric Kuhlman, DPM, joined the Center for Spine and Orthopedics in April, 2017. Having completed an Advanced Surgical Reconstructive Fellowship at the Professional Education and Research Institute in Roanoke, VA, Dr. Kuhlman specializes in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, arthroscopy and trauma; sports medicine; and diabetic Charcot reconstruction. He also treats diabetic foot wounds at the Wound Care Center at North Suburban Hospital.
“Each patient has a unique set of foot and ankle health conditions, as well as, their personal circumstances,” says Dr. Kuhlman. “I take great pleasure in taking the time to listen to each individual, and formulating the best treatment options suited to his/her needs and concerns.”
Dr. Kuhlman recently began a bunion study. His goal is to find an option for treating bunions other than wearing orthotics or having surgery. “I feel that patients deserve another option in between these two.”
Dr. Kuhlman completed a dermatology/pathology fellowship at the Bako Pathology Services in Alpharetta, GA. He completed a PMSR/RRA Residency at Geneys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc, MI. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. He is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
