Kian Modanlou, MD is a board certified general surgeon whose expertise is in robotic operations and minimally-invasive techniques for the treatment of several common and complex surgical problems. His belief is that these advanced techniques offer safer and quicker operations with outstanding outcomes and easier recovery and return to normal function. These operations are combined with a multi-modality approach to postoperative pain relief which decreases and often eliminates the need for narcotics. He operates at both top-tier hospitals and surgery centers so he can offer his patients the best choice for their care.

Dr. Modanlou is the Medical Director of the Swedish Medical Center Complex Gastrointestinal Surgery Program which provides a multidisciplinary approach to patients with cancer and complicated maladies of the stomach, bowel, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and liver. In addition, he performs a full array of general surgical procedures including hernias. Dr. Modanlou’s goal is to provide best-in-class care while ensuring that every patient thoroughly understands and participates in their treatment plan.
