Dr. Leo is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management. With 34 years of experience, he has performed thousands of pain management procedures, including implantation of spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pain pumps; radiofrequency and cryotherapy ablations; cervical and lumbar spinal injections (such as epidural steroids and facets); joint injections; trigger points; and dry needling. He also specializes in regenerative medicine, including PRP and stem cell injections; medical pain management; and medically-assisted treatment (MAT) for opiate addiction in conjunction with qualified therapy programs.
“Pain affects people differently, and my goal is to find the best solution to each person’s problem,” says Dr. Leo. His approach to pain management is multi-disciplinary and may include combining therapies, medications and interventional procedures to achieve optimal pain relief. He has practiced in multiple settings, from Level 1 trauma centers to community-based pain clinics.
Dr. Leo completed his anesthesiology and pain management fellowships at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City (NYC). Additionally, he completed a PGYII-Surgery residency at the New York Medical College, Lincoln Hospital and Mental Health Center in The Bronx, NY; and a PGYIII-V-Anesthesiology residency at The Mount Sinai School of Medical in NYC. Dr. Leo also completed a PGYI-Surgery internship at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate/Kings County Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He earned his medical degree at State University of New York at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Leo enjoys downhill skiing and traveling. He also loves baseball and plays in the Denver Men’s Senior League. His other interests include astronomy, Chinese medicine, Shao-Lin Kung Fu and T’ai Chi.
