Steve Shapiro is a Partner at Ogborn Mihm LLP in Denver, Colorado, and an experienced trial lawyer whose practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury and traumatic brain injury cases. He represents individuals and families facing life-altering injuries, including traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, burn trauma, and wrongful death.

Steve is an Advocate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and a member of the American Association for Justice’s Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group, where he serves on the Executive Committee. He has also served as a Board Member of the United States Brain Injury Alliance since 2013. Additionally, Steve serves as a Board Member of the Invisible Disabilities Association and the Anti-Defamation League and previously held the positions of President and Board Member of the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado. He also supports the Chanda Plan Foundation, which provides integrative therapies and services for individuals with long-term physical disabilities.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Steve has practiced law since 1983, spending his career aggressively pursuing fair resolutions in personal injury cases, with a particular emphasis on brain injury law, often referred to as neurolaw. For more than 35 years, he has worked closely with individuals living with invisible disabilities and understands the profound and lasting impact these injuries can have on daily life. A core focus of his practice is helping clients obtain appropriate rehabilitative care and improving their quality of life following a catastrophic injury.

Steve earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law from The Pennsylvania State University. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the U.S. Claims Court, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
